For my title of ‘Civil Unrest’ I chose to focus on the issue of how women are degraded by the media in society today and the impacts this has.
The images are oil pastels on A2 Cartridge paper. The image is a of a photograph of a young girl with photoshopped words of ‘delicate’ ‘decorative’ and ‘supportive’ over her face. The images shows how the media portray women. Society expects women to be delicate, decretive and supportive individuals and anyone who does not conform to these regulations are singled out and made to feel worthless. The medias opinions and portrayal breaks down women just has I have broken down the image by cutting these words into it.
